From the President

Dear Friends:

I hope everyone is receiving this Newsletter in good health and spirits.  I would like to take this opportunity to reach out to all of you and ask you for your help.  I would like to hear from all of you.  As the President & COO of Brite Computers, I am constantly interested in feedback from our customers.  A long time ago, I was told that “Feedback is neither GOOD, nor BAD, it just IS feedback.”  In order to better serve our current customers and future customers, I need to hear how we are doing.  If you could take 2-3 minutes out of your day to send an email to me at justin@britecomputers.com I would be very grateful.  We have been making investments in both human resources and infrastructure over the past few months. In order to ensure that we are making the proper investments, it’s time to do a sanity check.  In particular, your feedback is appreciated in the areas of Order Accuracy, Timeliness of Order Fulfillment, Product Delivery, Help Desk Support, Post-Sale Depot and Onsite Service, Network Services and Account Management.  Of course, any feedback is appreciated as always.  Thank you in advance for assisting us in our continual improvement process.

Best Regards,

Justin T. Smith
President & COO
Brite Computers

Product Information

Microsoft Windows Vista Downgrade rights

Downgrade rights are an end-user right and are documented in the product License Terms or End-User License Agreement (EULA) and refer to the ability of customers to acquire the most recent version of Microsoft® operating system software but
continue to run a previous version until they are ready to move to the new operating system version.

When and Why Would Customers Use Downgrade Rights?

Customer purchases a new computer system and needs to run the same operating system
as their existing 10 systems—Windows XP Professional. An OEM may facilitate the end user’s
downgrade rights from Windows Vista Business or Windows Vista Ultimate to a qualified version
of Windows XP Professional (noted below) on the new computer system. This process is further
defined in the Desktop Operating System License Agreement (DTOS). Learn More.

The GHz Myth - Is an 3.6GHz Intel Pentium D faster than a 2.6GHz Core 2 Duo?

If you are still judging a CPU by its GHz, consider that the Intel Core 2 Duo processor runs at slower clock speeds than Pentium-era chips, but is still more productive because it handles more calculations per clock cycle. Thanks to that slower speed, Core 2 Duo chips also need less electricity, drawing just 65 watts compared to the Pentium 4’s 95 watts and Pentium D’s 130 watts.
